AAFD Heads To Nightfires In Boise
It's that time again, AAFD will be racing under the lights at Firebird Raceway in Boise, Idaho. The Pepsi Nightfire Nationals are just a week away and several teams are ready to head to the Northwest track to compete in the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series Points race.
The field will be full of heavy hitters. Last years Nightfire Top Fuel winner, Rick White in the Neal & White dragster, will be there to defend their title. Previous event winners, Jim Murphy in "WW2" and Brad Thompson in the High Speed Motorsports entry, will try to gain on points leader Adam Sorokin in the Van Dyke Motorsports car. The New York based Bartone Brothers are set to debut their new front engine dragster at this event with Tony Bartone in the seat. Several California based cars will make the trip, Mike McLennan in "Forever Young", Mark Malde in the "Birky Bunch" Chevy powered rail and Rick Williamson in the CBS Racing dragster. Past winner, Jack Harris will be back in the seat of "Nitro Thunder" dragster.
As in years past, Firebird will be hosting an autograph session on both Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. It is always a big hit with the fans. Stop by and see your favorite top fuel and funny car drivers both days.
